Director: Mouly Surya

Jessica Alba trades a Special Forces uniform for a bar apron in Trigger Warning, a 2024 action thriller directed by Mouly Surya.

What is Trigger Warning about?

Parker returns home after years of military service to bury her father and settle his affairs, planning to leave again once the paperwork is done. Instead she inherits his bar, the social hub of a small town that turns out to be far less sleepy than it looks. As she digs into how her father actually died, she runs up against a mining operation and a local gang with deep roots in the town's politics. Old friendships turn awkward, new allies show up in unlikely places, and Parker's combat training becomes something she can't hide for long. The film moves at a brisk pace, staying close to its small-town setting even as the confrontations escalate toward a violent reckoning with the people running the show behind closed doors.

Cast & crew

Jessica Alba leads as Parker, supported by Mark Webber as the town's sheriff and an old flame, and Anthony Michael Hall as a powerful local figure whose interests collide with hers. Jake Weary and Gabriel Basso round out a cast of small-town power players with their own reasons to keep Parker out of the way.
