Maharaja works as a respected barber in a modest neighborhood, raising his daughter Jothi alongside a steady home life with Lakshmi. When masked intruders break in and Maharaja later reports that Lakshmi was taken from him, the local police dismiss his account outright, doubting that any loss occurred at all. Rather than let the matter drop, he pushes forward on his own, chasing leads the authorities won't touch while his daughter is away and unaware of the unfolding crisis.
