Director: Kim Moon-kyo
Twenty years of friendship, one unexplained death, and a detective who wakes up drugged with no memory of the night before — Connection builds its mystery from the inside out.
What is Connection about?
Jang Jae-kyung is a decorated narcotics detective with a spotless record until the night someone forces him into a drug-induced blackout he can't explain. When he comes to, an old friend from his youth is dead, and the fragments he can piece together point toward a conspiracy tangled up in two decades of shared history. As Jae-kyung digs deeper he's forced to reckon with the friend group that shaped him growing up, realizing that the people closest to him may be holding pieces of the truth they've kept buried for years. Connection moves between present-day investigation and flashes of that shared past, using the slow reveal of old loyalties and betrayals to complicate what looks at first like a straightforward case.
Cast & crew
Ji Sung anchors the series as Jae-kyung, playing a man forced to doubt his own memory and judgment in real time, while Jeon Mi-do brings a sharper, more skeptical presence as the colleague pulling the investigation in a different direction. Director Kim Moon-kyo paces the flashback structure carefully, letting Kwon Yul and the rest of the ensemble reveal their characters' younger selves without tipping the show's hand too early.
Context & significance
Connection is a 2024 Korean thriller that leans into the crime-drama tradition of using a single crime to unravel a much older web of relationships, a structure that has become increasingly popular in Korean television because it rewards close attention across the full run rather than resolving cleanly episode by episode.
Where & how to watch
Connection is available to watch on K-Time with a free account login, offered with a Farsi-friendly interface and both Persian dubbing and Persian subtitles for audiences who want to follow the story in their own language.
