Director: Yukinobu Tatsu
Ghosts, aliens, and a growing romance collide in Dandadan, the 2024 Japanese anime adapted from Yukinobu Tatsu's manga, now streaming with Farsi dubbing and subtitles on K-Time.
What is Dandadan about?
Momo Ayase believes in spirits; Okarun is convinced extraterrestrials are real. Neither believes in the other's obsession, so the two strike a dare: visit a haunted tunnel and an alleged alien abduction site to prove the other wrong. The bet backfires. Okarun loses something he didn't know he could lose, an ancient spirit attaches itself to Momo, and both teenagers walk away with abilities neither asked for. What follows is a genre-blender: slapstick comedy, body-horror creature design, and a slow-burn crush, all stitched into episodic battles against yokai, alien hunters, and family secrets neither of them saw coming. Director Yukinobu Tatsu, also the manga's creator, keeps the tone whiplash-fast, swinging from gross-out gags to genuinely tender character beats within a single scene.
Cast & crew
Shion Wakayama voices Momo with a mix of bravado and vulnerability, while Natsuki Hanae gives Okarun's panic-first reactions real comic timing. Veteran voice actor Mayumi Tanaka and idol-turned-performer Nana Mizuki round out a supporting cast that leans into the show's chaotic energy rather than playing it straight.
Context & significance
Dandadan arrived in the fall 2024 anime season and quickly became one of the most talked-about debuts of the year, helped by its willingness to mix horror, romance, and comedy without settling into any one lane. The source manga is still running, so the anime adapts only its opening arcs, leaving plenty of story for future seasons. Its 8.3 IMDb rating reflects strong word-of-mouth among both longtime anime viewers and newcomers drawn in by the show's distinctive character designs and animation.
Where & how to watch
Dandadan streams on K-Time with Farsi dubbing and Farsi subtitles, so viewers can choose either option. Watching requires a free K-Time account login; the show's page itself is open to browse without signing in. K-Time's Persian-first interface makes it easy for Farsi-speaking audiences to find and follow ongoing anime series alongside the rest of the catalog.
