Sydney Sweeney plays Cecilia, whose transfer to a centuries-old convent in the Italian countryside begins as a fresh start after a difficult loss back home. The sisters greet her warmly, the setting is postcard-quiet, and the routine of prayer and service feels almost restorative. That calm curdles fast. Cecilia notices details that don't add up: locked wings, murmured warnings from an older nun, a physician whose interest in her health feels clinical in the wrong way. As her body and circumstances change in ways she can't explain, the convent's true purpose surfaces, and Cecilia has to decide how far she'll go to protect herself inside walls built to keep secrets in. Director Michael Mohan leans on slow-burn dread and body horror rather than jump scares, letting the isolation of the location do a lot of the work before the film's final stretch turns confrontational.

Sydney Sweeney also produced the film and carries nearly every scene, playing Cecilia's shift from grateful newcomer to cornered survivor with real physical commitment. Álvaro Morte and Benedetta Porcaroli round out the convent's inner circle, while veteran Italian character actors Dora Romano and Giorgio Colangeli lend the setting a lived-in, unsettling authority.
