What is I S S about?
Aboard the International Space Station, a mixed crew of American and Russian scientists watches in horror as explosions bloom across the Earth below. Ground control on both sides quietly orders its own astronauts to seize control of the station, using whatever means the situation demands. What begins as a routine mission in zero gravity turns into a claustrophobic standoff between colleagues who, hours earlier, were sharing meals and swapping stories about home. Trust dissolves fast once everyone realizes the person floating next to them might already be under orders to stop them.

Ariana DeBose leads the ensemble as a marine biologist thrust into a role she never trained for, working opposite Chris Messina and Pilou Asbæk as station crew whose loyalties fracture along national lines. John Gallagher Jr., Costa Ronin, and Maria Mashkova round out the six-person crew, and much of the tension comes from how convincingly this small group plays scientists who genuinely liked each other before the ground started giving orders.
