Laura Franco returns home to recover after treatment, only to discover her childhood bedroom now has an occupant: a hulking, sharp-toothed creature that has apparently been living in her closet for years. Instead of running, Laura strikes up an odd rapport with him, and the two develop a bond that pulls her out of isolation right as her ex-boyfriend casts another actress in the musical Laura once wrote with him. What plays out is part romance, part revenge fantasy, and part meditation on rediscovering your own voice after other people have spent years talking over it.
