Director: Josh Cooley
Long before they became rival commanders, Optimus Prime and Megatron were something closer to friends, and Transformers One digs into exactly how that fell apart.
What is Transformers One about?
Set on Cybertron before the war that defines every other Transformers story, the film follows two low-ranking workers named Orion Pax and D-16 as they uncover truths about their world that neither of them expected. What they find pushes them toward very different conclusions about what Cybertron needs and who deserves to lead it. That disagreement, more personal than ideological at first, is the seed of the conflict that eventually turns them into Optimus Prime and Megatron. The film treats its Cybertronian setting as a fully built world rather than a battlefield backdrop, giving weight to the friendship it's about to break. Action sequences scale up as the story moves forward, but the emotional core stays fixed on two characters whose bond curdles into rivalry.
Cast & crew
Chris Hemsworth voices Orion Pax and Brian Tyree Henry voices D-16, with Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm filling out a cast built around distinct, recognizable voices for a mostly robotic ensemble.
Context & significance
Directed by Josh Cooley, whose background includes Pixar's Toy Story 4, the film approaches the Transformers mythology from an origin-story angle rather than continuing an existing continuity. Its 2024 release positions it as a prequel meant to work for newcomers and longtime fans alike, filling in backstory that prior films and shows had only referenced in passing. At 104 minutes, it keeps a fairly conventional feature length while covering a substantial amount of world-building.
Where & how to watch
Transformers One is available on K-Time with Persian dubbing and Persian subtitles, so it can be watched in whichever form suits the viewer. The film's page is free to read through; watching it requires signing into a K-Time account. The service is designed around Farsi-language navigation and support, aimed at making a big animated blockbuster feel at home for Persian-speaking viewers.
