Years after his last stint behind bars, Sickan reassembles his old crew — the excitable Vanheden, steady-handed Harry, and sharp-tongued Doris — for a job bigger than anything they've attempted before. Their target is a complete Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton locked inside the Natural History Museum, and their buyer is Wall Enberg, a businessman with deep pockets and few scruples, willing to pay a fortune for the fossil. Every step of the plan is timed to the minute, but the gang has overlooked one variable: Rigmor Gren, a veteran policewoman counting down the days to her own retirement who has spent a career chasing Jönsson and has no intention of letting him slip away now. As the countdown to the heist and the countdown to Gren's last shift collide, old rivalries resurface and new complications threaten to unravel a plan built on precision.
