Director: Mike Marzuk
Four mismatched siblings and a runaway penguin cross paths at exactly the right — or wrong — moment in The Chaos Sisters feat. Penguin Paul, a 2024 family comedy directed by Mike Marzuk.
What is The Chaos Sisters feat Penguin Paul about?
In the Martini household, keeping the peace is nobody's specialty. Livi, Tessa, Malea, and Kenny each pull in their own direction, and their household routinely tips into good-natured disorder before anyone notices. That disorder turns useful the moment a very unusual visitor turns up: Penguin Paul, fleeing from a pair of kidnappers with plans that are equal parts sinister and absurd. The siblings, who can barely agree on breakfast, suddenly have to agree on something that actually matters — protecting Paul before the scheming duo Mary and Marc catch up with him. Getting there means putting aside their usual squabbles and leaning on the very differences that normally drive each other up the wall. Marzuk keeps the tone light and fast, built around slapstick set pieces and a found-family message aimed squarely at kids and the adults watching alongside them, without losing sight of the four siblings as the real center of the story.
Cast & crew
Max Giermann and Janine Kunze lead an ensemble built around the young siblings, played by Lilit Serger, Momo Beier, Rona Regjepi, and Cara Vondey, with Giovanni Francesco and Felix Klare rounding out the cast in supporting roles.
Context & significance
A German-language family production released in 2024, filmed across Belgium, Germany, Italy, and Austria, the movie sits comfortably in a European tradition of comic family adventures aimed at younger audiences, running a full 100 minutes.
