What is Kung Fu Panda 4 about?
The Valley of Peace needs a new spiritual guide, and everyone assumes Po is the obvious choice. The catch is that the job comes with a condition: he first has to train a successor to carry the Dragon Warrior mantle he has held since the very first film. Scouting candidates turns out to be harder than any fight, especially once a shape-shifting sorceress called the Chameleon enters the picture, able to summon defeated villains from Po's past back into the present. An uneasy alliance with a quick-fingered fox thief becomes Po's best chance at stopping her before old enemies overwhelm the valley.

Jack Black voices Po for a fourth outing, joined by Awkwafina as the fox thief Zhen and Viola Davis as the shapeshifting Chameleon. Dustin Hoffman, James Hong, Ian McShane, and Ke Huy Quan round out the returning and new voice cast, with Bryan Cranston back as Po's biological father, Li.

Directed by Mike Mitchell, this 2024 release is the fourth entry in DreamWorks Animation's long-running franchise, arriving nearly eight years after the previous chapter and shifting focus toward mentorship and legacy as Po considers who might follow in his footsteps.
