What is Cyrano about?
Cyrano de Bergerac can out-talk and out-duel anyone in front of him, yet he cannot bring himself to tell Roxanne how he feels, convinced his appearance has already decided the matter for her. Roxanne, for her part, has fallen hard and fast for Christian, a young soldier who admires her from a distance but has none of Cyrano's gift for language. The three end up bound together by a plan neither man fully controls: Christian's looks paired with Cyrano's words, delivered as if they were his own. Joe Wright stages the arrangement as a musical, letting songs carry the confessions the characters can't say plainly, and letting the mounting cost of the lie build alongside every number.

Peter Dinklage reprises the role from the stage production that inspired the film, opposite Haley Bennett as Roxanne and Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Christian.
