What is Prey about?
Naru is a young Comanche woman determined to prove herself as a hunter in a world that expects her to stay behind and heal wounds rather than inflict them. Her chance comes when she notices signs that something dangerous has entered the territory, a predator unlike any the tribe has faced before, one whose weapons and abilities put it well beyond a wolf or a bear. While the men around her chase a mountain lion, Naru tracks the real threat alone, learning its patterns and testing which of her skills, and which borrowed tools, might actually work against it. The film narrows its focus to a single extended pursuit across open plains and dense woodland, building tension through observation and patience rather than spectacle, as Naru edges closer to a confrontation the tribe does not yet know is coming.
About the cast
Amber Midthunder leads the film as Naru, carrying most of its runtime through physical performance rather than dialogue, with Dakota Beavers as her brother Taabe. Dane DiLiegro plays the Predator itself, while Stormee Kipp, Michelle Thrush, Julian Black Antelope, Stefany Mathias and Nelson Leis round out the tribe and the trappers who cross Naru's path.

Prey arrived in 2022 as a prequel that relocates the Predator franchise to the Northern Great Plains roughly three centuries ago, a sharp departure from the series' usual modern military settings.
