Set almost entirely inside a cramped New York apartment, the story follows Katie, Christina, and Rachel as they wait out the final days of their father's life. Katie arrives with a folder of hospice paperwork and a habit of managing everyone; Christina drifts in with forced calm and herbal tea; Rachel, who has actually been living with and caring for their dad, is left defending her place in the family she feels has already written her off. Old grievances resurface fast: who called often enough, who paid for what, who gets to grieve out loud. A hospice nurse's visits mark time between arguments, and a stairwell becomes the only place any of them can breathe. What plays out is less a plot than a slow pressure test, three very different coping styles colliding in a space too small to hide in.
