A misplaced core memory sends Joy and Sadness tumbling out of headquarters and into the wider landscape of Riley's mind, leaving Fear, Anger and Disgust to run a preteen alone through a new house, a new school and a hockey tryout that goes badly. Finding a way back becomes a lesson in what sadness is actually for.
