Winter empties the coastal town, leaving its narrow streets and shuttered storefronts to a handful of residents who know each other far too well. Into this quiet drifts a young wanderer with nowhere else to be, forced by circumstance to wait out the cold months in a place that has little patience for outsiders. His presence, meant to be temporary, starts pulling at old grudges and hidden arrangements among the locals, and what begins as small deceptions escalates into double-crossing and eventually murder. Guillaume Canet and Alba Rohrwacher lead a cast that also includes Sharif Andoura, Emmy Boissard Paumelle, Marie Drucker, Lucette Beudin, Gilberte Bellus and Hugo Dillon, playing a community whose surface calm hides a great deal of unfinished business.
