How long can a handful of soldiers hold an island prison against wave after wave of attackers? That is the question James Nunn's One Shot (2021) sets itself, with Scott Adkins leading a British action picture built around a single, relentless siege.
What is One Shot about?
Intelligence points to an imminent attack on Washington D.C., and the only person who might know the details is being held at a CIA black site on a remote island. A small Navy SEAL team under Lt. Jake Harris flies in with junior CIA analyst Zoe Anderson to collect the prisoner and get him out before the clock runs down. The site's deputy manager, Jack Yorke, will not hand over a suspected terrorist on the strength of one analyst's reading of the intelligence, and the argument over jurisdiction is still raging when the perimeter is breached. Insurgents arrive in numbers, the base is cut off, and the people who were shouting at each other minutes earlier now have to fight side by side simply to survive the night and finish the mission.

Scott Adkins heads the cast, with Ashley Greene and Ryan Phillippe in the other principal roles. Emmanuel Imani, Dino Kelly, Jack Parr, Waleed Elgadi and Terence Maynard round out the squad and the prison staff.
