Sam Peel spent six years behind bars for the killing of Trife, and when he's finally released, he expects the hardest part to be over. Instead, Alex Winter's crime drama shows him stepping into a London that never stopped keeping score. Old rivals haven't forgotten what happened, former friends have scattered or turned hostile, and the people closest to Trife are waiting for their own reckoning. Sam tries to rebuild something resembling a normal life, but every attempt at peace gets pulled back into the orbit of violence he thought he'd left in his cell. The film leans into that tension between wanting to change and being surrounded by people who won't let the past stay in the past, tracking Sam as he's forced to decide whether he can break the cycle or whether it's already decided for him.
