What is In the Earth about?
Dr. Martin Lowery sets out for a remote research post known as ATU327A, hidden inside the Arboreal Forest, guided by park scout Alma. Their trek is meant to be routine, but a violent nighttime attack leaves them injured and without shoes, forcing them further off any marked path. When they stumble on Zach, a man who has been living alone in the woods, his offer of help looks like rescue at first. As the two travelers depend on him more, his real motives begin to surface, and the forest itself starts behaving less like a backdrop and more like a presence with its own logic. What began as a supply mission turns into a fight to get out, with the line between local myth and hard science growing harder to hold onto the deeper they go.
