The series opens in 1977, dropping viewers into a Naples caught between poverty and a booming cigarette-smuggling trade. Pietro grows up as an adoptive son in one of the city's poorest corners, a street kid with no real family name and no obvious way out. Alongside his brothers and the friends who will stay with him for life, he chases the ordinary things a teenager wants: a first love, some standing, a way to matter. Then he meets Angelo, known on the street as 'A Sirena, the man who runs Secondigliano, and that meeting becomes the door into a world Pietro cannot un-see. From there the show tracks his slide through violence, shifting alliances, and betrayals that cost him pieces of the person he might otherwise have been. Marco D'Amore and Francesco Ghiaccio direct a prequel that treats Pietro's youth as a slow bill coming due, not a shortcut to power.
