Director: Ute von Münchow-Pohl
A quiet corner of elf folklore gets a jolt of energy in this German family adventure, where two very different clans of tiny helpers finally cross paths after generations apart.
What is Die Heinzels – Neue Mützen, neue Mission about?
Helvi has grown up believing she knows everything about her small, tidy world of helper elves, until she stumbles onto proof that a rival Elfkin gang exists nearby, one built on speed, gadgets, and a taste for mischief her own clan would never allow. Curiosity gets the better of her, and a fragile friendship forms with Bo, the youngest and most adventurous member of the rival gang. What starts as sneaking around and swapped secrets grows into something bigger: a chance to heal a rift between the two clans that has lasted more than two and a half centuries. Along the way, old grudges resurface, loyalties get tested, and Helvi has to decide whether keeping the peace matters more than keeping the rules. Director Ute von Münchow-Pohl brings warmth and visual charm to a story about friendship crossing lines that were never supposed to be crossed, wrapped in bright, playful animation built for the whole family.
