A family reunion in Cappadocia sets Safir in motion, bringing three brothers back under one roof just as old ambitions, a hidden engagement ring, and buried resentments start colliding.

What is Safir about?

The Gülsoy family has spent years defined by the authority of patriarch Ömer, whose grip on the household pushed his grandson Ateş to walk away from home altogether. Ateş returns years later at his mother Gülfem's request, alongside his brothers Yaman and Okan, to help expand the family business Ömer built. Coming home means the three brothers finally stand united, at least for now. Yaman, meanwhile, is ready to propose to Feraye using a sapphire ring he secretly bought from their mother back when he was still a child, a promise he's held onto through everything since. As the wedding approaches and Yaman and Feraye risk everything to stay together, a sudden tragedy throws the entire family's plans into disarray. Ateş finds himself making increasingly radical choices to protect the people he loves, putting him on a collision course with both new enemies and his own brothers.

Cast & crew

Özge Yağız and İlhan Şen anchor the cast as central figures caught in the Gülsoy family's unraveling, with Burak Berkay Akgül, İpek Tuzcuoğlu, Can Bartu Arslan, Müfit Kayacan, Erkan Bektaş, and Gizem Sevim filling out three generations of the household and the people orbiting it.

Context & significance

Safir premiered in 2023, set against the distinctive landscape of Cappadocia rather than the usual Istanbul backdrop common to Turkish family dramas. That setting gives the Gülsoy saga a different texture — old land, old money, and a patriarch whose authority the next generation is only beginning to challenge — while keeping the genre's familiar mix of romance, rivalry, and inheritance disputes intact.
