Weddings rarely go the way anyone plans, and Iyi Gunde Kotu Gunde turns that idea into a full romantic comedy: a professional planner ends up organizing the wedding of the man who once left her at the altar.
What is Iyi Gunde Kotu Gunde about?
Leyla has built a career out of managing other people's happiest days as a wedding planner, keeping her own history carefully out of the picture. That balance breaks down when a new job lands on her desk: the wedding of Sarp and Melisa, and Sarp turns out to be the same man who abandoned Leyla on their own wedding day. Professional pride keeps her on the job even as old wounds resurface, and the series builds its comedy out of the awkward proximity that follows — client meetings that turn personal, venue visits loaded with history neither party wants to admit to, and a growing pull between Leyla and Sarp that complicates everything the show sets up. Around that central triangle, the series stays light on its feet, favoring quick dialogue and situational humor over heavy melodrama, in keeping with a genre built for easy, replayable viewing. The Istanbul setting gives the wedding-industry backdrop a glossy, contemporary look, and the show uses its premise — planning the wedding you never had — to wring both comedy and real tension out of a familiar romantic setup.
