What is Baltimore about?
In April 1974, a small crew slips into a stately Wicklow home and walks out with nineteen paintings worth a fortune, hoping the theft will force attention onto the conflict raging across the border. Rose Dugdale, an heiress turned militant, becomes the operation's steady hand and its most wanted face. Rather than following the robbery itself, the film settles into the days after, as Rose hides out in a remote cottage with the paintings and her nerves fraying under the weight of what she has done. Conversations with her comrades circle around loyalty, ideology, and the cost of turning conviction into action, while the manhunt closes in from the edges of the frame. The film is less interested in the mechanics of the crime than in the psychology of a person choosing exile over safety for a cause she still believes justifies it.
