Since losing her mum, Georgie has been getting by alone in their flat, filling the silence with make-believe, small schemes, and a fierce refusal to let anyone treat her like a kid who needs looking after. That fragile independence collapses the moment Jason, the father who was never around, reappears out of nowhere and moves in, uninvited but not entirely unwelcome. Neither of them knows how to be family to the other, so they circle each other warily at first, testing boundaries through petty scams and half-honest conversations rather than any big reconciliation scene.
