What is Trolls World Tour about?
Poppy learns something her sunny upbringing never taught her: the cheerful Pop tribe she grew up in is only one branch of a much larger family tree. Scattered across distant lands are five more troll communities, each shaped entirely around a different sound — funk, country, techno, classical, and rock — and each fiercely protective of its own way of life. When Barb, the guitar-wielding ruler of the Rock trolls, sets out to unify every kingdom under a single, all-consuming string, Poppy and her reluctant best friend Branch leave home for the first time to stop her. Their journey becomes a tour through radically different musical cultures, forcing Poppy to rethink what she assumed unity even meant. Along the way the pair recruit unlikely allies from tribes they once didn't know existed, and Branch is pushed further outside his comfort zone than the first film ever asked of him. The stakes are dressed in glitter and hooks, but the underlying question — whether difference should be erased or celebrated — carries the whole adventure.
About the cast
Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake return as Poppy and Branch, joined by Rachel Bloom, James Corden, Kelly Clarkson, Anderson .Paak, and Sam Rockwell voicing rulers of the other troll kingdoms. Walt Dohrn, who co-directed the first film, takes the director's chair alone this time.
