What is Young Werther about?
Werther is a novelist with talent and almost no follow-through, sent into the city by his mother to handle a family errand he'd rather avoid. There he crosses paths with Charlotte, a woman already committed to Albert, a steady and impressive fiancé who represents everything Werther is not. Instead of walking away, Werther lets himself fall headlong for Charlotte, sparking an emotional entanglement that neither of them quite admits to naming. Meanwhile Werther and Albert stumble into an oddly cordial friendship, each aware of the tension but unwilling to confront it directly, and the three of them drift deeper into a triangle where affection, jealousy, and self-deception keep changing places.
Cast & crew
