Three amateur stargazers get an unwelcome front-row seat to an actual invasion in "War of the Worlds: The Attack," a low-budget British spin on H.G. Wells' famous premise from 2023.
What is War Of The Worlds The Attack about?
A trio of young astronomers gathers at a remote observation post to track an unusual object approaching Earth, expecting nothing more than a rare celestial event to document. What they find instead is the opening wave of a Martian assault, arriving with overwhelming force and no warning. Cut off from outside help and unsure who else is even left, the group has to rely on scraps of scientific knowledge and sheer improvisation to stay alive as the attack spreads. The film compresses its scale down to a handful of characters and a single crumbling vantage point, turning a planet-wide catastrophe into a claustrophobic survival story.
Cast & crew
Sam Gittins, Lara Lemon, and Alhaji Fofana anchor the film as the three astronomers at the center of the invasion. Vincent Regan and Leo Staar appear in supporting roles as the chaos widens beyond the observation post, with the small ensemble carrying most of the film's tension through close-quarters performances rather than large set pieces.
Context & significance
Directed by Junaid Syed, the film is one of several independent adaptations that have reworked Wells' 1898 novel for modern audiences on a modest budget, favoring practical tension over large-scale visual effects. Its short runtime keeps the pace tight, moving quickly from first contact to full-blown crisis.
Where & how to watch
K-Time carries the film with a Persian dub for Farsi-speaking viewers; no Farsi subtitle track is currently attached. Streaming requires logging into a K-Time account, though the film's page can be browsed freely without one.
