Decades before the story opens, Alanur and Ziya were engaged, only for pressure from both households to force them apart before either could explain themselves. Alanur builds a career in business, while Ziya stays rooted in Antakya's traditions and raises a family of his own, including his eldest son Mehmet, who is quietly planning to leave the family trade behind. Years later, Alanur's daughter Aslı, an ambitious dance student finishing her final year at a French-language high school, meets Mehmet, and the connection between the two young people pulls their parents back into each other's orbit.
