Anya grew up around sled dog racing, following in the footsteps of her father, who built his career on the same frozen courses she now competes on. Traveling to Finland, she sets out to complete his final, unfinished race as a way of honoring his legacy. Her plans hit a snag when her lead dog is injured just before the competition, forcing her to pair up with a dog belonging to Cole, a fellow musher. The unfamiliar partnership is rocky at first, and Anya has to learn to trust an animal she didn't train while also facing off against Monty, her late father's longtime rival on the circuit. Between the racing, the new canine partnership, and Cole's growing presence in her life, Anya finds the trip becoming about more than just crossing a finish line.
