Kareena Kapoor Khan plays Jass Bhamra, a British police officer who relocates to the town of Buckingham after the murder of her own son. She is barely settled into the new posting when a young boy from a South Asian family goes missing, and the search quickly widens into questions about the community, the local force, and the assumptions each side makes about the other. Hansal Mehta directs from a script that treats the procedural spine as scaffolding for something quieter: how a person keeps functioning at work while carrying grief that never actually resolves.
