Grief pushes Hyunsoo into a run-down apartment building called Green Home, and something inside the building is already changing the tenants around him.
What is Sweet Home about?
Hyunsoo arrives at Green Home carrying the weight of a family accident that left him completely alone, planning to keep to himself in a new apartment among strangers. That plan does not last. Residents around him begin showing signs of a transformation that turns ordinary people into monstrous versions of their own worst impulses, and the building's tenants — an ex-firefighter, a webtoon artist, a former special-forces officer, a young couple, and others — have to decide whether to trust each other or barricade themselves in alone. As the building is cut off from outside help, Hyunsoo and the survivors around him try to hold the line against the monsters emerging inside their own walls, while Hyunsoo grapples with the question of what is happening to him as much as around him. The series spreads its focus across the full ensemble of Green Home's residents rather than following one hero through a straightforward siege.
About the cast
Song Kang leads as Hyunsoo, with Go Min-si and Lee Jin-wook among the Green Home residents drawn into the building's unraveling. Lee Si-young, Jung Jin-young, Yu Oh-seong, Oh Jung-se, and Kim Moo-yul round out an ensemble spread across the building's different apartments and backgrounds.
Context & significance
Lee Eung-bok directs the series, adapting a webtoon into episodes that run roughly 52 minutes each. The show builds its horror around a contained setting — a single apartment building sealed off from the outside — and lets its ensemble carry the tension rather than relying on a single central threat. It has drawn a wide international audience for a Korean horror-thriller built on body-horror transformation and close-quarters survival.
