What is Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie about?
Bikini Bottom is scooped straight out of the ocean without warning, leaving its residents stranded and desperate for a way home. Sandy Cheeks and SpongeBob set out for Sandy's home state of Texas, the one place where they might find the know-how to fix the disaster. Along the way the pair meet Sandy's family, trading the underwater setting the characters usually live in for dusty roads and ranch life above the surface. The mission gets more complicated once it becomes clear that an unscrupulous CEO is behind the whole crisis, turning what starts as a rescue trip into a confrontation with corporate greed. The film leans on the fish-out-of-water premise in the most literal sense, letting its aquatic cast navigate a very land-bound world while keeping the goofy energy the characters are known for.

Carolyn Lawrence voices Sandy Cheeks and Tom Kenny returns as SpongeBob, with Clancy Brown, Bill Fagerbakke, Mr. Lawrence, and Rodger Bumpass reprising familiar supporting roles. Johnny Knoxville and Craig Robinson round out the cast, adding new voices to the extended story.
