What is Salaar: Part 1 about?
Raja Mannar wants his son Vardha to inherit control of Khansaar, but the men closest to him have other plans, hiring foreign mercenary armies to seize the throne by force. Vardha escapes the coup with his brother and a handful of loyal men, scattered and hunted with nowhere safe to land. He turns to Deva, a childhood friend who has kept his distance from Khansaar's politics for years. Learning what has happened, Deva sets aside that distance and commits himself to putting Vardha back in control of the city his family built. What follows is a story about loyalty tested by violence, staged across sprawling set pieces and a fractured criminal hierarchy where every ally has a price. Director Prashanth Neel builds Khansaar as a world with its own rules of power, and the bond between Vardha and Deva as the one constant inside it.

Prabhas plays Deva with the physical presence the role demands, and Prithviraj Sukumaran gives Vardha a wary, cornered energy that suits a man fighting to reclaim what's his. Shruti Haasan, Easwari Rao, Jagapati Babu, Bobby Simha, Sriya Reddy and Ramachandra Raju fill out Khansaar's web of family, rivals and enforcers.
