Little Wing centers on a girl navigating her parents' divorce and the very real possibility that she and her mother will lose their home, a weight far too heavy for a thirteen-year-old to carry alone. Almost by accident, she gets pulled into the tight-knit, oddly competitive world of pigeon racing, spending time around an older trainer and a flock of birds that need patience, routine, and care in a way her home life currently doesn't offer.
