What is Grimsburg about?
Set in the fog-soaked, oddball town of Grimsburg, the animated series pairs grotesque procedural cases — from a cannibal clown on the loose to an armoire dispute nobody else could solve — with a much quieter mystery: how Flute lost his marriage and his relationship with his son. After years away, he returns home determined to chase down leads on both fronts, working department cases by day while trying to earn back trust from the ex-wife he never got over. His son, meanwhile, is essentially a stranger to him, and every stakeout or interrogation doubles as an awkward attempt at parenting from a man who is far more comfortable reading a crime scene than a room full of feelings. The town supplies no shortage of material: everyone in Grimsburg seems to be hiding something, and Flute's habit of noticing details normal people miss keeps dragging him into other people's secrets even as he avoids his own.
