Vincent, a puppeteer on a fading children's show, spirals into addiction and denial after his young son Edgar vanishes on the way to school. When Eric — a towering, blue-furred monster that once lived only under Edgar's bed — begins appearing to Vincent in waking life, the line between clue and hallucination blurs. As the police investigation widens into the corners of 1980s New York, uncovering corruption, homelessness, and secrets inside Vincent's own marriage, the search for Edgar becomes as much about Vincent confronting who he has become as about finding his son. Six episodes trace grief, addiction, and a father's desperate bargain with his own imagination.
