Dandoon Tala follows Nayer, a girl who has left the countryside for Tehran and makes her living selling goods on the street. After a confrontation with a police officer over crossing a barrier, she runs and takes shelter inside a coffeehouse whose owner, Ghanbar Dizel, is known around the neighborhood by his nickname, Dandoon Tala, or Gold Tooth. What starts as a place to hide turns into a job, as Nayer begins working in the coffeehouse and is drawn into its daily rhythms and the web of regulars who pass through it.
